JEDI
With the Jedi Purge ending 10 years ago, the Jedi Order has begun to rebuild itself. Two years ago the Jedi Council opted to relocate its primary training facility from the Jedi Temple on Coruscant to the secret Polar Academy on Telos IV. However, a recent security breach by the evil droid-like being known as "Vexxtal" has made them reassess their presence on Telos and a number of Knight/Padawan pairings have been sent out to find a suitable site to relocate their training and base of operations. The current Grand Master is Zez-Kai Ell.
The Jedi Order's relationship with the Senate and with the Republic in general has been strained at best over the past few years, and finally hit the fan after a series of events led Republic officials to the belief that the Order had turned on the Republic. In response, Jedi throughout the galaxy are currently being arrested for conspiracy and treason against the Republic. (Note that the arrest orders are known only to Republic military personnel at this time.)
REPUBLIC
The past few years have been extremely difficult for the Republic and for Coruscant itself. The Jedi abandoned the Galactic City. Supreme Chancellor Vienna Organa was assassinated. 500 Republica (the largest senatorial residence building) was destroyed in a terrorist attack. And multiple planets have been lost with the war against the Sith. In addition, the Republic's alliance with the Mandalorians has fractured following the Battle over Dxun.
Many senators and Republic citizens alike are disgruntled and displeased with how the war is progressing and some even blame the Jedi after they left the Capital. This progressively negative opinion of the Jedi finally spiraled out of control recently when Jedi General Alexander Organa was arrested on the charge of treason. Following his subsequent escape with aide from other Jedi, the Republic branded all Jedi traitors to the Republic and has initiated military arrests of all known Jedi. (Note that the arrest orders are known only to Republic military personnel at this time.)
SITH EMPIRE
The war has been good to the Sith. Having combined remnant forces of Malak's former armada along with vessels from the unknown regions their fleets have spread across the outer and mid rims and gained a recent foothold in the core worlds by seizing the peaceful world of Alderaan. The Sith Order is led by the resurrected Sith Lord Exar Kun. A new, much younger, Sith has claimed much power in the past two years, however - Darth Sjena - the apprentice of Darth Bandon. She has managed to seize control of a large portion of the fleet and forged an alliance with the Hutt Council and the Mandalorians in addition to many within the Empire itself. Some believe she plans to move against the ruling Sith Lords and claim the position of Dark Lord.
On Korriban the Sith Academy was recently attacked by a droid-like creature identified as "Vexxtal." He single-handedly managed to kill or maim each and every Sith master within the Academy as well as slaughter all of the students. Only those that were offworld at the time survived, thus limiting the number of actual Sith throughout the galaxy.
MANDALORIAN
The Mandalorians have recently undergone a large schism within their ranks. The predominate groups are the United Clans and the Kyr'tsad (or "Death Watch" in Basic). The United Clans follow Mandalore Canderous Ordo's teachings of unification of all Mandalorians and his alliance with the Republic and Jedi. The Kyr'tsad see this view as heretical to the Mandalorian culture and heritage of war, glory and honor. They see Ordo's departure from the known Galaxy to aide Revan in his quest against the "True Sith" as a betrayal of the Mandalorian people. The Kyr'tsad have recently overthrown the United Clans political leadership on the homeworld of Mandalore and have nearly wiped out all of Ordo's remaining loyalists on the moon of Dxun. Only a handful of loyalists have survived and they are now scattered across the galaxy.
HUTTS
The Hutts are experiencing a economic boom in thanks to the war between the Republic and the Sith Empire. Despite this the Hutt Council has recently agreed to a secret alliance with Darth Sjena and her vision of the Sith Empire. They continue to play both sides of the war while raking in the profits.
BOUNTY HUNTER'S GUILD
The Bounty Hunter's Guild has been rebuilt by the Guildmaster Vossk on Nar Shaddaa and is once again a wildly recognized and respected institution on most worlds whether Republic, Imperial, or independent.

BATTLE OF MUSTAFAR – The Grey Order of the Fel Federation get drawn into a conflict with an alien race using organic vessels and weapons – they seek the aide of the Jedi. Tomias Shoryu is among those to respond.

The Fel Federation dissolves and the surviving Grey Order members are incorporated into the Jedi Order
SECOND SKIRMISH ON TATOOINE – The Sith Empire invades Tatooine but Anchorhead is held by a coalition of Jedi and civilian forces.
Padawan Monica Mark is last heard from on Tatooine.
Exar Kun’s spirit is discovered on Yavin IV by Allia Sarell. Kun is reanimated with aide from Darth Bandon and Allia Sarell.
Exar Kun returns to Korriban and kills the leading Lord, Darth Crayte, solidifying his claim to the mantel of Dark Lord of the Sith. He refocuses the Sith’s aggression towards the Jedi themselves rather than the whole Republic.
BATTLE OF CORUSCANT – The Sith launch a massive strike against Coruscant, sending down ground forces to infiltrate the Jedi Temple. Much of the city is demolished. ShoRyu and Zageth both aide in the defense of the Temple. Organa resurfaces to assist. Serra Keto is presumed dead.
Zerrec Zageth becomes the Padawan of Alexander Organa
SECOND BATTLE OF KASHYYYK – The Sith begin enslaving the Wookiee populous. The Jedi send a team of Jedi to reinforce the Wookiee resistance fighters. They ultimately succeed in removing the Sith, but a Czerka presence remains.
MISSION TO YAVIN IV – Organa, Zageth, and ShoRyu are dispatched to Yavin IV to retrieve Padawan Natan Harlak from a Sith prison facility. Organa is captured by the Sith while the others escape with Harlak.
Organa is taken to Korriban where Darth Talik’s Holocron shards are buried beneath his skin. Darth Talik’s spirit overtakes Organa’s consciousness and takes control of his body.
Allia Sarrell is taken as a Sith Apprentice to Darth Bandon – taking on the name “Darth Sjena”

SKIRMISH ON NABOO – A group of Jedi including Zageth and Padawan Josh Nayayen fend off Sith attacks and liberate a Sith work camp.
Sith Minion Oni Zenthari captures two young Jedi Initiates and imprisons them on Ziost
BATTLE OF ZIOST – A full scale Republic assault on the Sith prison world of Ziost takes place in order to retrieve the captive Jedi initiates. Darth Talik (in Organa’s body) takes command of the Sith fleet via the comm and turns the tide of the war. The Jedi manage to escape with their initiates and a few other captives but at great cost to both the Republic Fleet and Republic ground troops.
Serra Keto finds her way back to the Jedi Order
MISSION TO KORRIBAN – Believing Organa to be still held captive, a small Jedi strike force lands on Korriban and retrieves Organa (possessed by Talik). The Sith allow it.
Talik stands before the Jedi Council impersonating Organa and informs them of a planned Sith attack on Corellia. He also informs the Council that it is Exar Kun that is now leading the Sith. Talik agrees to go to Dantooine for “recuperation.”
Dann Sinclair is taken as a Sith Apprentice to Exar Kun – taking on the name “Darth Reaper”
BATTLE OF CORELLIA – The Sith spark distrust and dissent among the Corellian people and direct it toward the Republic personnel stationed there. They then send a Sith Fleet to “liberate” the world from Republic “oppression.” The Republic sends Jedi infiltrators and then a fleet to combat the Sith, but public will on the planet pushes the Jedi and Republic off-world – leading to Sith control.
Tom the Krayt Dragon goes on a drunken rampage
SECOND BATTLE OF KUAT – Nearly simultaneously with the events of Corellia, a Republic Senator and Admiral of the Sith Empire begin negotiations with Prime Minister of Kuat – each in an attempt to convince them to join their respective government now that the Fel Federation no longer has a presence. When the Sith representative begins to gain support, the Republic Senator kidnaps the Prime Minister and holds him hostage with a grenade. The Sith attempt to stop him, however he escape the planet with the Prime Minister. The Prime Minister is killed in the process, and the Kuati govt joins the Sith Empire.
DANTOOINE INVASION – With the events on Corellia and Kuat in play, Talik reveals himself on Dantooine and stabs Grand Master Vandar. He then takes command of the Republic fleet in orbit using Organa’s command codes and disables their shields and weapons. A massive wave of Sith vessels arrive and obliterate the Republic Fleet – then send down ground Forces to the Jedi Enclave. Only a few Jedi manage to escape – Zhar Lestin, Kali Black, Arren Kae, Christopher Michael, Novan T’zun, Master Dorak and Serra Keto. Nearly 100 are slaughtered.
Jedi across the galaxy of varying ranks are hunted down and killed by the Sith under Talik’s command.
Jedi Order relocates to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant
Astefan Macillan returns to Dantooine only to find the Sith occupation. Goes into hiding.

SKIRMISH IN TRIOSH’S COMPOUND – Mandalorians led by Cassus Fett and Marcus Bralor infiltrate a crime lord’s base on Nar Shaddaa. Waasur Priest is killed during the mission.
Umar Tane and Talik are given a mission by Kun to destroy 500 Republica on Coruscant.
SKRIMISH ON DANTOOINE – Rebel resistance leaders Zez-Kai Ell, Bastila Shan and Astefan Macillan engage Darth Sjena, Darth Bandon, and Darth Reaper.
SKIRMISH ON ARKANIA – the Republic aide requested by Arkania arrives in orbit – the Sith Warship opens fire on the Republic fleet. Talik returns to his flagship from Korriban in preparation of his mission to Coruscant to find it entrenched in battle and orders a retreat. A Jedi strikeforce including Tomias ShoRyu and Christopher Michael board the Warship prior to the retreat in an attempt to capture Talik – they become trapped aboard the ship while in hyperspace. Combat ensues and Shoryu and Michael are captured then sent to the Sith prison on Yavin IV.
The Jedi Council instructs Kali Black to retrieve hidden holocrons on Dantooine that were lost during the Sith’s invasion.
Ar’kikze S’ss’nixztoo is found by Black on Nar Shaddaa and joins the Jedi Order
500 Republica is destroyed by Tane and Talik. Several key Republic Senators and Representatives are killed. Several Senators blame the Jedi Order’s departure for Coruscant's troubles, a recovery effort by the Jedi later does little to placate them.
Padawan Zerrec Zageth dies on Corellia after attacking a covert Jedi group sent to assist an underground rebellion.
THIRD BATTLE OF DANTOOINE – Black, Katarn, Atton Rand, Mira, Shim and S’ss’nixztoo provoke the civilian populous of Dantooine into active rebellion. They lead a revolt against the Sith backed by a fleet in orbit and force the Sith off planet. Darth Bandon is trapped in the cave system there.
Aramis Varlassen returns from a lengthy trip to study medicinal herbs in the outer rim
Jedi Grand Master Vandar Tokare killed by Darth Talik in the abandoned Jedi Temple on Coruscant. Talik’s hold over Organa begins to falter and break due to Vandar’s efforts and sacrifice.
Darth Sjena negotiates an alliance between her Sith Forces and the Mandalorian Splinter Group - Death Watch
Christopher Michael escapes from Sith captivity on Yavin IV but identifies Telos IV as the Jedi’s base of operations.
The Mandalorians return to Nar Shaddaa and kill Exchange crime lord Visquis

The Sith send Dark Jedi Soln Tok to investigate Telos. He is confronted by Jedi initiate Lara Rhys, Ad-Tsi-Lex, Christopher Michael, and Aramis Varlassen. The Sith confirm a strong Jedi presence on Telos IV.

SKIRMISH OVER CORUSCANT – A Sith fleet arrives on Coruscant to retrieve Talik, a brief battle ensues with heavy Sith casualties. Mandalorian informants relay fleet information back to Dxun – leading to a Republic investigation.
Jedi Knight Belaya returns to the Order following self imposed exile on Kashyyyk
FIRST BATTLE OF DXUN – The Republic sends down a Jedi diplomat to discuss the Mandalorians’ involvement in the recent Skirmish Over Coruscant. The Mandalorians open fire on the landing craft – claiming planetary sovereignty. The Republic destroys the Mandalorian’s air-to-orbital defenses. Kom’rk Vhon commanding the Mandalorian Warship Parjai opens fire on the Republic vessels in orbit; destroying the Republic flagship. General Ma’tien is killed by Vhon following ceasefire talks. An evacuation deadline is given following a ceasefire.
Talik’s hold over Organa breaks and Organa turns on the Sith and flees from the Sith Warship, but is shot down on Kuat. Kun confronts Organa and defeats him, leaving him for dead. The spirit of Vandar Tokare appears to Organa, healing him, and instructs him to go to Alderaan.
Organa arrives on Alderaan and undergoes extensive medical treatment overseen by Master Vrook Lamar.
Garrett Lobb resurfaces on Nar Shaddaa and meets up with Tomias ShoRyu
SECOND BATTLE OF DXUN – Having not met the deadline, the Republic enacts a blockade of Dxun. The Mandalorians launch a strike and send a Commando Squad aboard the acting Republic Flagship – including Sergeants Hokan and Caius Ordo. The Commandos are betrayed by fellow squadmate Adenn Vel, working with Vhon. In orbit, Vhon abandons the other Mandalorian warship – leading to its destruction and focuses fire on Cassus Fett’s starfighter – revealing that he is the leader of the Death Watch Mando splinter sect. The Fetts escape. Marcus Bralor, Helo Roegr, Orius Kelborn, Sevda Dravel, Adenn Vel, Saviin Roeger, John Ordo, Cabur Skirata, and Juroh Orade are all MIA or presumed KIA. Dxun is left abandoned.
Republic Supreme Chancellor Vienna Organa is attacked by Darth Sjena and subsequently assassinated. Josh Nayayen confronts the assassin briefly but she escapes.
SKIRMISH ON ONDERON - Hokan and Caius Ordo escape the Republic flagship but crash land on Onderon. Confronted by Tomias ShoRyu and Garrett Lobb, they defeat the two Jedi and take ShoRyu hostage.
Jedi Initiates Ar’kikze S’ss’nixztoo, Lara Rhys, Jean Strife and Padawan Chistopher Michael confront Exchange thugs on the surface of Telos IV and explore the cave system
S’ss’nixztoo discovers ancient Rakatan Ruins below the surface of Telos IV, and a sentient red crystal latches onto S’ss’nixztoo’s droid. The crystal/droid then seizes the Jedi Academy itself as a hostage to barter for his release.
Darth Sjena seizes command of her master’s, Darth Bandon, fleet and territory
CONQUEST OF ALDERAAN – Sith forces led by Exar Kun and Freedon Nadd invade a defenseless Alderaan. Republic ships are dispatched to investigate the comm silence but are quickly overrun. Lee Katarn, Tolaris Shim and Serra Keto investigate and aide Vrook Lamar and Alexander Organa in an evacuation of the planet. Senator Kale Antilles stays on the planet to lead the resistance.
Darth Bandon resurfaces on Dantooine and gains passage to Telos IV.
Leiah Macillan is kidnapped by Cassus and Arligan Fett on Tatooine.
Senator Pryn of Onderon elected to replace Vienna Organa as Supreme Chancellor
A major Hutt crimelord on Tatooine is killed and his estate in Anchorhead destroyed.
The sentient crystal found by S’ss’nixztoo names himself “Vexxtal” and burns the Sith Library on Korriban to the ground.

SITH ACADEMY MASSACRE - "Vexxtal" kills every living being within the Sith Academy on Korriban.

They board Vhon's flagship, but thing quickly go wrong as Cassus is jettisoned out of a hangar, Skirata is captured, and Arligan is beaten to an inch of his life. DESTRUCTION OF THE ADASCORP TOWER - Lee Katarn and company are detained by Adascorp personnel following the escape of Talik's clone. But the Adascorp clone soldiers, bred from the genes of renowned Mandalorian Field Marshal Marcus Bralor, turn on Adascorp and kill the cloning master. They let the Jedi escape and then plant charges to destroy the tower. After exiting the explosion rips through Adascopolis, showering the city in rubble. The Bralor clones then make a hasty escape to the planet Mandalore.
BETRAYAL ON CENTAX-1 - Alexander Organa is interrogated by Senator Nias and subsequently escapes from Republic prison after supposedly killing two Republic soldiers. Lara Rhys and Leiah Macillan aide in his escape.
In response to the Centax-1 incident, the Supreme Chancellor issues Executive Order 11-38: an arrest warrant for all Jedi.

Admiral Carth Onasi challenges the Chancellor's order and is demoted to Captain. He then rebels against the Republic and rescues Jedi Knights Bastila Shan and Josh Nayayen. Onasi is branded a traitor to the Republic.
Darth Sjena secures all but one Sith fleet under her control, and gains the support of Tobias Katarn and Soln Tok - acting headmasters of the Sith Academy.
Belaya, Ar'kikze S'ss'nixztoo, Saviin Roegr, Nadya Vevut, Minith Ora, and Iziz the Younger crash land on Manaan. They suffer extreme injuries as Firaxen sharks attack before being rescued by the Selkath Shasa and a Republic patrol.
Searching for clues and info on the Death Watch, Hokan and Caius Ordo travel to Rhen Var where a Death Watch camp is known to be located. The two Mandalorians are separated in a snowstorm.
Lord Arkoh Adasca supplies Lee Katarn and company with an Adascorp vessel in an effort to track down the clone of Darth Talik.

RAID ON THE JEDI ACADEMY - A team of Republic Marines and TSF officers raid the Jedi Academy in the polar regions of Telos IV in accordance with Order 11-38. Midway through the raid, TSF Lieutenant Dol Grenn turns on the Republic officers and rescues the Jedi.
Jedi Alexander Organa, Lara Rhys, Nahte Sohmat and Leiah Macillan flee Republic forces and hide on Rhen Var where they discover Hokan.
Caius Ordo is captured by Death Watch forces on Rhen Var and is immediately transported to the new Mandalore's flagship for interrogation.
Jedi Zhar Lestin, Christopher Michael, and Jean Strife are captured by Sith Colonel Theran Mon Halan on Vjun. They are transported to Korriban for interrogation.
(The following takes place during the time jump agreed upon by active players)
The fleeing Jedi from Telos are taken in by Carth Onasi and narrowly escape the Republic forces.
Hokan, Lara Rhys, and Leiah Macillan destroy the Death Watch camp on Rhen Var.
Darth Sjena, Tobias Katarn, and Soln Tok engage Exar Kun in his temple on Yavin IV. Together they are able to defeat Kun and trap his spirit within the walls of the inner sanctum, thus preventing him from reanimating and rising again.

Mandalore Kom'rk Vhon returns to the planet Mandalore and solidifies his rule.
The Jedi aboard Carth Onasi's vessel dodge Republic patrols as they attempt to rescue stranded Jedi caught up in Order 11-38's wake.
BATTLE OVER KUAT - With all but one fleet recognizing her authority, the new Dark Lord Darth Sjena brings the full force of her armada down on the renegade Sith fleet commanded by Freedon Nadd. Tobias Katarn leads a strike team to eliminate Nadd himself. Nadd's forces are obliterated. During the mayhem Kuati revolutionaries take the opportunity to turn on their Sith oppressors. Sjena orders orbital bombardments of Kuat City and the shipyards. The planet's infrastructure is decimated.
Evidence linking Vice Chair Nias to the Sith is acquired by the Jedi, and it is determined that he is in fact "Acaadi," the former apprentice of Grand Master Zez-Kai Ell.

OOC History
2006
The history of the IE starts long before the "IE" as you know it was even thought of. In the Fall 2006 a group of fellow KotOR fans gathered on the Facebook "Knights of the Old Republic" fan group. The group's creator had started a series of weekly trivia questions where as you answered questions correctly you would gain points. After 100 points you could become a Padawan, 200 a Knight, and 300 a Master. While the soon-to-be-founders began answering questions, they and several others began to create character profiles from the KotOR games (some characters, such as Carth Onasi, had already been created prior to this point). These characters began to interact with each other via Facebook "walls" and the group fans also began interacting with these characters as if living within the Star Wars Universe.
2007
In January of 2007, three characters (Master Vandar, Master Kavar, and Jawa of Jedi) took it upon themselves to create a home for the interacting characters, and they created "The Jedi Enclave on Dantooine" Facebook group. Within weeks of the group's creation there was a sudden influx of characters, all of which began to interact with both the "real" players, and the other "canon" characters. Of course, not wanting to feel excluded, the dark-side characters, led by Darth Sion, also created a home; "The Sith Acadamy on Korriban" group. Each group began their own trivia system to gather "students" to their side and have the progress. Soon the lightsiders and darksiders were at eachothers throats, and it became apparent that the Walls were not sufficient enough to deal with the battles needed to settle these quarrels. Thus a third group was created by yet two more characters, HK-51 and T3-M4, called "The Dueling Circle." In the Dueling Circle characters could create a discussion board topic where multiple people could battle. The Dueling Circle was the first time anyone attempted to moderate the roleplaying being done, and a system of attacks, receiving hits, and dialog was created. These same rules (albeit expanded) can be found on this forum.
With the Dueling Circle being a success some believed it was to time to take the roleplaying to a new level. In May of 2007 a new character was created, Rakata Builder, and set to work creating groups for each of the planets visited in the KotOR games (as well as Coruscant). He linked all these groups together on a group he called "The Infinite Empire." (This same group would be used on Facebook until the move to Proboards in January 2009, more on that later) At first, not everyone knew what to do with all these groups. An example had to be set. So the collection of students whom had first started answering questions in the KotOR group got together on the group called "Dantooine" and set off to find crystals for their lightsabers in a discussion board topic they labeled "Crystal Caves." Here they encountered the first NPCs (Kinrath) as well as encountered their first Sith in-universe.
With the revelation that the discussion boards could be used as all sorts of different locations, the Sith characters hatched a plan. They were going to invade Dantooine. They launched the attack, creating several different locations known to exist on Dantooine, and they had NPC Sith Trooper and themselves as Sith begin to take control of these locations. The Jedi caught wind of this, of course, and immediately began fighting back on the discussion boards. Thus began the first multi-locationed multi-character battle. The battle ended with the Sith retreating, but everyone was ready for more. Soon similar battles started taking place on all the different Planet groups; Onderon, Kashyyyk, Manaan. Likewise, interaction began to spread to the other planets, not just as battles, but as conversations and character development. The IE was a hit.
The IE continued to grow, and in response more planets were added to the lists. The Jedi and Sith groups were brought together, and their points and ranks of participating members were added on the IE group. Eventually the roleplaying started to deteriorate, and it was clear that strict rules needed to be put in place to prevent Godmodding and power-playing. Rules were added, the number of ships was restricted, and the game continued.
After several months there became a demand for more. The Mandalorians had joined in on the RPing, but many felt excluded because their faction and the characters they liked were being excluded. Therefore, as a test, the IE opened it's timeline for one month to allow more factions and more players to enter. The Galactic Empire, The Yuzzhan Vong, The Exchange, and the CIS all joined. At the end of the month it seemed to have been a success, and so all the factions that had ten players or more were allowed to stay. The Vong and the CIS dropped out, but the others stayed and the IE continued without a set time for some time. Eventually a Rebel Alliance faction was started to better combat the growing Imperial faction.
But not all was well behind the scenes. The main admin for the IE had become overworked. He created a Council where the long-term roleplayers and faction leaders could convene and discuss changes in the IE. In December of 2007 some of these players had become frustrated with the strict rules and regulations that had been put in place, as well as the main admin's enforcement. So they left. They started a forum and went their separate way. This departure of many of the faction leaders prompted a split in the IE, half leaving to join the forum, others staying behind on Facebook. In the midst of the drama, many players chose just to drop out all together.
2008
Fortunately other players picked up the reigns of those who had left, and the roleplaying continued, but it was a slow start. The Jedi were able to recover, as were the Sith, however none of the other factions had enough members to continue being prominent factions, and were therefore removed. By Spring of 2008 the Jedi/Republic decided to add a new element to their faction, and introduced the Clone Army. The Clones enjoyed an initial success, however it was short lived as there was an overwhelming movement by the majority of players to return to the KotOR time period. An IE-wide vote was held to solidify the transition, and then it was made official. As was expected, several of the characters backed out of the IE, or created different characters that fit the timeline more appropriately.
The roleplaying continued, however activity began to decline. It was decided that the number of planet had to be reduced, as the IE had become cluttered with never-before-used planets. The faction leaders chose the planets that they felt should stay, and then another vote was held to determine which planets should be removed. By the end of it, the number of planets had almost been cut in half. However the IE was still not perfect. Facebook began to feel more and more like a less-than-ideal environment for an RPG and, in the first few days of 2009, it was therefore decided by the faction leaders to move the IE to Proboards.

After a fortnight of work by the three current admins and an official opening on January 31, so the IE came to be on Proboards as it is today.
There were rapid increases in the member count in the first few days as people found their way back; by the end of the week, there were nearly 50 accounts on the forum. With everyone settled, RPing started winding back up to healthy levels. March saw the replacement for the old Trivia finally emerge from the Staff Board as part of the tweaks being made in response to member feedback. On the RPing side of things, throughout Spring 2009, the Mandalorians and the Exchange enjoyed several hundred posts on Nar Shaddaa whilst the Jedi moved from the Temple on Coruscant to a hidden Academy away from the Sith and the Sith started on new plots to strike at the heart of the Republic, later foiling a Jedi attempt to capture Darth Talik.
In July, the NPC rules were upgraded to better fit with the more character-centric play that had gradually evolved in the IE. The average number of IC posts hung around 18 per day proving that the IE was still a hit. This level kept going up to December when activity dropped a little as is the case around this time. That didn't stop 46 Google Adbots suddenly appearing at once over 10 minutes to trawl through the forum for search terms. The Staff held their breath to see if the IE would reach the new year unscathed... (2006, RP was in early days still; 2007, players split away; 2008, facebook was ditched)

average 17-20 posts per day, ~7100 total IC posts, ~8440 total posts, 92 registered characters, ~115 members, ~330 total IC topics, ~550 total topics, 11 skins. 8th hit on "infinite empire" Google search, "infinite empire rpg" shows up as search suggestion when "infinite em" is typed into Google.
2010
...and NOTHING bad happened to the IE at all. Things were slower than normal but, given that we hadn't seen a normal new year in the IE before, we still don't know if it is a seasonal thing or not. But, about two new members joined every week thanks to a push in advertising by the Staff.
In February, activity peaked with an average of 20 posts a day and a record (that still stands) of 49 posts at one point. Behind the scenes, the total number of character sub-boards (111) hit the limit that the forum could have in a board, calling for a rethink. Unfortunately, activity then plummeted at the start of March and stayed lowed.
With the Staff worked to the bone, it was difficult to get activity back up. The inactivity can be attributed to many things, the likely culprit being the time of year. Members saw this and began the slow climb up to speed again, reaching only half February levels around April. It was a slower year than last, but it eventually dawned that the scale of the board was too big for the pace and number of the members. As a result, the planet listings were trimmed (and given a facelift of individual banners at the end of the year) and, behind the scenes, the faction leaders encouraged the story to focus on fewer places with more people.
As a result, activity picked up a little and then found a more comfortable level to go along.
2011
The transition to the new year was much less noticeable with little change from the members. Posts continued at a steady rate with the game looking set for a better year with a gigantic plot beginning to unfold in game.
