*Ell rubs his head when he sees Lex turn the temperature dial all the way to the other side. That'd just burn it and make a mess. When smoke starts coming from the oven, Ell knew what would happen next. The automated fire alarm went off and noises blared throughout the whole academy letting everyone know a fire was started in the academy.
In this case, thankfully it was just smoke. However, Ell competely forgot about what happened after an automated fire alarm went off. The sprinklers went off in the room to put out any fire there might be. He hears Lex say he meant to do that. Ell could only facepalm as his robes were getting drenched.
Ell used the Force to clear out the smoke and the alarms went off. Shortly after the sprinklers quit as well. The place was now soaked and smelled of burnt meat.*
We really need to hire a cook.
*Ell commented rather calmly.*

*He looks into the oven at the charred lump that could've been his steak. He shuts the door without taking it out.*
"Hmph. Wasn't that hungry anyway."
*Actually he was.*

*Ell simply shakes his head and smiles.*
I'll bring it to the attention of others. I'm sure one could be hired without a problem.
*Ell simply walks past Lex and opens the oven, he takes the charred steak out of the oven and dumps it into a nearby trash dispenser. Leaving the oven open, he digs into the freezer and pulls out two more steaks and tosses them in the oven. He sets the oven temperature and the timer appropriately, being sure that Lex could pay attention to how he was going to cook them. Once they were set, he simply shuts the oven and turns his attention back to Lex.*
Are you thirsty? Would you like me to get you something to drink?
*The tone implied that he was willing to get him for it out of generousity, not that Lex couldn't handle getting his own drink.*

*Ell nodded his head in response and fetched a cup. He poured Lex some water and handed it to him. Shortly afterwards he poured himself a glass of water as well. Like he really needed it. He got plenty of water when the sprinklers went off, but now he was playing off the wet Jedi Master Robes well, as though being wet didn't bother him.
After a time the steaks were done. Ell pulls out the steaks from the oven. He placed them on the stove and pulls out two plates and sets them on a nearby table. He then gets out some seasoning and condiments and places them on the table. He puts a steak on each plate, then hands one of the plates to Lex.*
Here. I know you said you weren't that hungry, but I'd hate for you to have went through all that trouble for nothing.
*After Ell handed Lex the plate, he sits over at the table and begins seasoning the steak.*

*Lex looks at the steak, inspecting it to make sure it was done correctly. After some prodding, he appears to be satisfied.*
*He takes a cautious bite into it. Upon determining that it's edible, he starts eating it, not making eye contact with the Jedi Master.*

*Ell looks over as he hears Lex making a noise. The Grand Master notices that he seems to be satisfied with the food and simply turns around and continues eating his. After taking a few bites of his steak, he speaks up.*

*While Bhob was in the middle of eating his steak, Josh decides to track down a map he can put onto Bhob's borrowed datapad. He takes out his own and starts flicking through screens to find a suitably up-to-date Academy map. He is still trying to find one when the odd space dinosaur he had identified as Lex, from the Archives earlier, enters and proceeds to operate the oven. He could hear it buzzing and couldn't see that Lex had not set it properly so Josh doesn't intervene. At any rate, he didn't have a good history with the Academy kitchen appliances. Josh finds the map he was looking for and picks up Bhob's loaned datapad to transfer it across. When it pings to say that it is done, the Grand Master has entered to assist Lex.
Josh quietly watches the attempt at cooking soon deteriorate into a small cloud of smoke. The alarms go off and proceed to drench the 4 occupants of the room. Josh sees his vision slowly become obscured by sopping wet bunches of his hair. Of course, the other occupants were Sullustan, hairless dinosaur and bald respectively. When someone burns something in the kitchen he had to be the only one present with any hair. Ell comments on the lack of a cook; Josh agrees.*
"I second that statement Master."
*While Ell prepares more meat on the other side of the room, Josh decides to render some sort of aid and starts using the Force to move the sprinkler water into one contiguous puddle in the corner better than any vibromop would.*

They are a species of antlered, herbivorous mammal called nerfs found across many planets in this galaxy.
*Ell was quick to answer Lex as he inspected the meat. He looks over as Josh cleans up the water on the floor.*
Scratch that. Make that a cook and a janitor. Well, not the same person. That could be...problematic.

*Josh says this as he finishes moving the puddle of water into one spot at the side of the room. He's not actually sure why he moved it there now other than to remove it from the floor elsewhere. His scalp starts to prickle slightly and he looks up straight into the gentle hot waft of air coming from one of the heaters. He could actively clear up the water or he could leave it to evaporate after 10 minutes under the heater. Problem solved.*

*Master Ell nods at Josh's suggestion. A cleaning droid would be nice. The Jedi needed alot of investment and Ell was coming to find out more and more the depths of how deeply that investment should be. Even the most mundane things needed a fix. Janitor, cook, etc. Just basic workers to help keep the place up and running were necessary to the Order.
Ell thought about buying a few droids for the job. Then again, he felt that the Order didn't need to rely too too heavily on technology when a person could do the job. Two options came to his mind. These could be duties and chores of the students themselves to teach them discipline. On the other hand, they could hire a few people and stimulate jobs that way. Maybe a little mixture of both ideas even. After all, the Jedi weren't exactly a group of the richest people around and material posessions were frowned upon in the Order. The Jedi had few things on them and could appreciate living on a simple budget.
Well, maybe the Jedi of his era could. He was starting to wonder about the Jedi of this era. That was another thing. Investment needed to be made in the students, the next generation of the Jedi Order. How could they continue to hold the same ideals and the Code itself if they weren't trained and disciplined properly? Of course Ell already had it set in the back of his mind that once they changed location, it meant an entire cleaning of the house, so to speak, of the Jedi Order. Things would change for the better. For now, the Jedi that remained here mostly consisted of the Masters themselves, save Josh who was now a Knight and Lex who hadn't technically joined the Order yet.
Ell took another bite of his food as he continued to ponder on these things. When he heard Lex chime in, he could only give a chuckle. That seemed an understatement. It wasn't so much the place physically, but the Jedi Order themselves needed help. They needed restructuring. They needed to breathe fresh air. He finally responds to Lex.*
You have a talent for understatement.
*He turned his attention to Lex, thinking back on a fleeting thought. He hadn't technically joined the Order. So what were his plans? What would he do? Would he join them? Ell decided to engage Lex to see if he'd give him any idea of what Lex had planned for his life now that he was here in their corner of the galaxy.*
So Lex, do you have any long term plans?

*Ell shook his head sadly. Lex just wanted to go home, but that seemed like a task beyond their current technological capabilities. The fact Lex was even here now was by strict chance...or as Ell reconsidered, by the Force itself. Ell wasn't one to believe in mere chance very often.*
I have heard nothing, I'm afraid. I am sure the Republic has it's best minds on the task, but it is a task that exceeds our current ability.
*Ell ponders for a moment, stroking his magnificent mustache.*

*Bastila walks through the kitchen on her way to the comm room, and wrinkles her nose at the distinct smell of smoke. Fortunately things seem to be under control now, though there is still a large puddle of water on the floor. Master Ell is seated at a table with one of the newest students, and Josh is with the Sullustan she had met while in hiding on Dantooine. It is good to see that he has apparently completely recovered from his coma.*
"Hello, Master Ell."
*She nods in greeting to the mustachioed master and Lex, and then to Bhob and Josh before continuing into the comm room*

*Master Ell looks away from Lex as Bastila enters. As he's about to respond to her, she leaves the room. However, shortly after he can hear Vrook calling to him. He looks back over to Lex.*
My apologies. I must see what I am being summoned for. I hope we can continue a conversation later, however.
*Master Ell stands up. He wraps up the remains of his steak and puts it in the fridge. He then takes his drink and walks from the kitchens to the comm room where Vrook is at.*

*Bhob is really enjoying his shroom steak. He nods in response to Josh's question about getting him a map, and Josh begins finding him a good one. But then the Sullustan freezes with the next bite halfway to his mouth as a large bipedal reptilian creature enters the room and heads straight for the refridgeration unit. Bhob remains absolutely still as Lex rifles through its contents and appears not to notice him. When the reptile moves to the oven, Bhob begins eating again, slowly, while watching with interest as Lex tries in vain to figure out how the contraption works.
He is not at all surprised when Lex ends up burning his meal, though he is a bit startled when the sprinklers come on. He ignores the sudden shower of water, though, and finishes eating his steak. However, the sprinklers remind him that a proper shower might not be a bad idea. Maybe he can do that after Josh shows him to what will be his room while he is here. As he is thinking this, Bastila passes through and he tries to wave at her, but she seems to be in a hurry. She and the Jedi master now seated at a table with Lex are the only familiar faces he has seen since waking from his coma. But shortly thereafter, the Jedi master leaves as well to discuss something important in the comm room, and the door is closed. Bhob shrugs and takes his borrowed datapad back from Josh, with the map of the Academy now on it. He enters in a message for Josh to see.*
::Thank you for the map. The elderly Jedi master said something about giving me a room?::

*As I leave the Comm rooms, I see Master Ell and give him a small bow of respect. I reach the Kitchens and see Bhob, Lex and Josh. I smile as I see the fire-sprinklers on.*
~My task is pretty simple, but I would like to let Master Ell know. I don't want to take too long since Birk and his unknown friend who is also a potential Jedi candidate would be waiting at this point.~
*Being pretty much ready to leave at this point, I walk back towards the door to the workroom and find it locked. Standing against the wall, I close my eyes for a brief meditation.*

Josh. I have a mission for you. Should you choose to accept, you will accompany Master Shan to Coruscant. You will meet Alexander Organa there. He has a possible Jedi candidate he came across on his latest mission. He cannot bring him here personally, because he's bee assigned another mission that is top priority. Master Shan will be accompanying him on this mission.
You are to pick up the Jedi candidate. He is an echani with Alexander, so he will not be hard to pick out. Since Bastila will be leaving with Alexander, you will need to pilot the ship back here with the Jedi candidate.

*As the door opens, I break out of my meditative trance and see Master Ell walk by and give a small nod. I walk with him, in hopes of filling him in with the details of the first message. Its not a very difficult mission, and doubt it would be dangerous, but its important to let the Grand-master known each and all news that comes in. I remain against the wall until Master Ell finishes briefing Josh. After a moment, I speak kindly.*
"Master Ell? Earlier we received a call from a younger boy from Alderaan, who is with another that claims to be a Force sensitive...actually both claim to be. I've asked them to meet me in one of the Cantinas. They should be there shortly. I already talked with Vrook and he suggested that I give the boy and his friend a Force sensitivity test and then I can bring them here if they are shown to be sensitive in the Force. Would this be alright? I wouldn't anticipate this would take long."
*I calmly wait for a reply. It wouldn't take long before I get there, but I did want to talk to Master Ell about it, in case he has reservations about my going there.*

*Josh nods as Master Ell takes his leave closely followed by Bastila. The sensation of the datapad being removed from his hand alerts him that Bhob has finished his steak. Once the Sullustan has typed the message out, Josh looks at the screen and reads it.*
"Yeah, I think he did. We can go over to the student quarters—which aren't all that bad to be honest—and see if there's a free room there now."
*Not having had anything to do, Josh starts making his way to the courtyard exit...only to be halted by the moustachioed Grand Master calling his name from the comm room doorway. He turns around to listen to his new assignment. Someone without the reverent restraint of a Jedi would be punching the air, but of course, Josh wouldn't do something like that. Not really. As Ell goes on, it turns out to be a simple task of picking up a potential student that Alex had discovered on a mission to wherever it was. When Ell has finished the briefing he nods.*
"I would be happy to do this Master."
*He indicates Bhob waiting at the side of the counter.*
"I did promise our guest here to show him to some quarters. Is there time for me to do that now or am I keeping Master Shan waiting?"

I can show our friend to some quarters, if you would like to go prepare.
*He turns his attention towards Lex. It was likely he would need the same set up. Unless someone had already directed him to some quarters. He turns back to Josh.*
It is best not to keep Master Shan waiting. The mission her and Alex will be going on is a very urgent one.

*As Ell informs Josh that he would need to leave as soon as ideally possible, Josh vaguely pats downs his robes to see what he had on him. He had his lightsaber, some credits, a datapad and comlink; that should be all he would need just to go to Coruscant to pick up a new student. He bows to Ell and turns towards the direction of the workroom.*
"Thank you Master Ell, I'll go find Master Shan now."
*With that, Josh heads through to the hangar.*
